A vision realised
For over a decade now, every September, we’ve been renewing our website as a way of reflection and targeting what we want to do in the future, what’s working, and what’s not. We’ve taken the time out to see what’s right and what’s wrong. I think after a full decade of doing it, we’ve actually done our final refresh of the website.
I think what we’ve got now is actually the culmination of everything that we’ve learned about what’s needed. We’ve been able to really create something special that’s not just a website saying what we do and how we help, but actually a true place that offers support and help for organisations, no matter how large or small. It is somewhere somebody can come to just get that help that they need.
Yes, if they want to buy services great! But there’s plenty of free resources there too. The days of the shop window website are over and we’ve created something now that is truly special and quite unique in the workspace. It will allow Scruffymonkey to carry on its services and its mission much more efficiently and better than ever, whilst truly giving value to its audience.
Our website needs to reflect what we tell our clients to do and it’s the classic issue of you spending all your time helping other people and not concentrating on what you need to do for your organisation. To actually take the time out and create the resources that are needed to help people has been a large project, a massive undertaking but we finally got there.
The new website contains things like:
- A website hub that’s full of everything that you’d need to learn, hints, tips, and advice regarding creating a website, and everything about a website for a business or an organisation.
- A charity hub, which shifts its focus purely for charities and nonprofit organisations, with loads of help, advice, tips, and support in there
- We’ve also strengthened our services offering, reflecting what’s actually been required, what our clients have actually told us through the year.
- We’ve improved our workshop offering and really simplified what our delivery options are.
- We’ve now got an AI website assistant. With the advent of AI it’s really helpful to have a true 24-hour salesman sat on your website that can actually chat with your audience to really help them with what they’re enquiring about. It creates a level of efficiency for the organisation, which is truly fantastic for them and aides with creating better conversions / enquiries.
- We have a legal compliance section. It’s really important that people’s websites are compliant. Something that’s been a little bit wishy-washy with clients: they know the importance of it and they’re creating generalised documents but they’re not legal and they need to be. We’ve put that in force and in place for GDPR assistance.
I think the most exciting one for us is actually our Google profile management. Local SEO and search is so important and it’s something that our clients don’t understand or miss the importance of their profile, particularly with AI using it as a key ranking factor and suggestion in its content. Your Google My Business profile is absolutely at the top of the list for the most important factor for rankings. We want to take that weight away from them and offer a managed service where we can audit, update it, check it, and keep it updated for them to get those local enquiries. It’s not just about local search; it just helps with general AI search and your position on the web.
We really want to be working with clients in the future on that and we want to start connecting all of our services. We’re in a special place with AI being so heavily thrust upon us. Even though we are a small organisation, we now feel we have the clout more than ever to offer a whole solution for our clients, not just web design: something that will help their organisation in all areas of digital whilst saving them money and taking the stress and the pressure away from them in the future.
I’m excited for where this new website refresh leads us. I almost feel it’s mission accomplished about who we are and what we’re about. As always we are just here to serve and make life as easy as possible from a digital point of view for all organisations we work with throughout the UK.
We hope you like what we’ve done and where we’re going.
Thanks, as always, for your help and support Chris, Chief Monkey.
