At Scruffymonkey, we’ve always believed that business should serve its community.

That’s why we’re proud to share that we’ve created and donated a brand-new website to Bolton IPMS — a local scale modelling club that brings people together through creativity, craftsmanship, and conversation as part of our commitment to enhancing the lives of people in Bolton.

Why Bolton IPMS?

Bolton IPMS is part of the wider International Plastic Modellers’ Society network. For decades, IPMS clubs across the country have offered a welcoming place for hobbyists of all ages to share their love of scale modelling — from aircraft and military vehicles to sci-fi builds and historical pieces.

But Bolton IPMS is more than a modelling club.

  • It’s a meeting point.
  • It’s a support network.
  • It’s a space where conversations happen naturally around a shared table.

And in today’s world, spaces like that matter.

The Mental Health Value of a Hobby

Scale modelling is patient work. It demands focus, steady hands, and attention to detail. It encourages people to slow down. For many, it becomes a form of quiet therapy — a chance to step away from daily pressures and concentrate on something tangible and rewarding.
